Thanks for the link - I had a hunch it was somewhere around there! I'll check it out - I love all things OBX - except of course the traffic getting there.

I don't dive anymore, but I was certified by NAUI back in '74 or '75. The blue TT sub is the watch that sparked my interest in Rolex, and although I own two Rolex's, I still don't have a sub.... Yet.

dubyatf,

We left out of Hatters Inlet everyday for the 16 mile trip out to the site. Max depth I saw there was 228' in the sand at the turret. Very cool dives as the steam engine had just come out and new artifacts had been exposed, by it's removal.

Ceritifed PADI in 1981 on the west coast of BC (Canada) and continued to dive until the mid 1990s. Now just snorkel and reef dive. Deepest was 65 feet.

I'm getting my Advanced OW certification next month, so I can dive 130 feet into the Blue Hole off the coast of Belize next summer. We'll be staying for two weeks at a dive resort on Turneffe Island and diving every day. I plan to wear my SD on every dive.

I don't care for the diving locally as the water is cold and the visibility relatively poor. But it's great training for diving in the warm, clear waters of the Caribbean and Hawaii.
I just got back frm Cozumel...I dove 20 feet with a snorkel and about exploded LOL....but I intend to get certified for the nex trip. Could you still see well at 85 feet?

We spent the weekend there this past weekend, beat the crap out of myself skim boarding, with my watch, I am sure it is more durable than me, because I can feel every one of those waves this morning in my office.
Are you back in town? We need to have that beer we talked about.

Rob, clear as day. Cozumel is a special place. The dives there are called drift dives because you go down, then just ride the current till it's time to come back up.

Since everyones having a ____ measuring contest-- my deepest dive was a 30m = 100feet wreck in beautiful clear warm Oahu water in nothing but swim trunks. God I love Hawaii.

Admittedly no diving for me. Just a Sub owner. I'm really interested in taking some lessons though. I've already got expesive hobbies with motorcycle/car trackdays and golf. Think my pocket book couldn't handle another expensive hobby

Someday...

certified in '95

PADI open
PADI advanced
PADI deep

About 200+ dives to date. Haven't been in a while though.

Deepest I've been is 50M - that was in Seal Rocks, NSW, Australia - with the Grey Nurse sharks.

Oh, and I wear a GMT2C!!! (not a sub/SD).....

The last time i dived Stoney Cove there had been 15 deaths in 17 years. a very deep and cold dive.
