Replacing hollow endlinks with SEL?

I was wondering if anyone here has replaced just the hollow bracelet endlinks on their sports model (ie. Sub, Ex2, GMT2) with the newer SEL? Can you just replace the endlink part or would you need an entirely new SEL bracelet?

My Ex2 is on the 501B hallow endlinks on the 78790 bracelet. I would like a more "solid" bracelet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

don't think you could replace the end link from looking at the design. since you're in sf, walk into the sf rolex service center. giovanni can order one for you. however, it is not cheap.

The case is different with a SEL bracelet there is a recess slot in the case.

Padi,

I think man of the sports date models came with the recess though even if it didn't come with a SEL bracelet.

My 16800 has the SEL recess even though the 93250 wasn't available in 1984. I just put a 93250 on it today. Myt 16700 which came with a Jubillee has the recess too.

I didn't think the bracelets are interchangeable. I doubt it's possible to change just the end links.

My A series Sub has the recesses as well, even though it came with a hollow end link bracelet.

I think the gold Subs came with the SEL bracelet first, and perhaps the steel cases were machined the same way at the time they changed?
