Being spotted in the Las Vegas outlets

While I am trolling on here, I would like to share my first experience of being spotted out in the wild and also spotting one in the wild. I took a mini-getaway with the wife to Las Vegas a few weeks ago. We went to a nice restaurant next to the Caesars Palace. Our waiter was sporting a SS Submariner! I couldn't avoid staring at it because I was seated and his left hand was basically at eye level with me. My wife thought I was crazy I was staring at his left hand longer than I was looking at the steak and crab claws I ordered. I thought about saying something to the waiter but decided not to. (Had flashbacks about reading that thread here - people sometimes don't like to be complimented)

We went to the downtown Premium Outlets North and I was texting my wife something while I was walking. A salesman working one of those booths called out from 20 feet away "Hey man, nice Milgauss!" I smiled and thanked him but kept on walking. Kinda was surprised he could pick it out from so far away! I finally met up with my wife on the other side of the outlets and another man at the booth was slightly more creepy. He asked my wife and I if we wanted our Rolexes polished! I instantly said no. Not giving a stranger in a booth our Rolex to be scratched up! Is he crazy?!?!

You probably would have been ok with the waiter... he would have banked on a better tip!

Chances are, he got that Rolex as a tip. Some friends live in Vegas and work for tips (restaurant and others ;) ) Always hear crazy stories like that.

I have seen a waiter at a very famous chinese restaurant called Joe Shanghai, wearing a Sub LV. I made a comment that it was a very nice watch and he politely said thank you. It was a good experience.

Was in Las Vegas earlier this year and saw many Rolexes on couples at the Wynn's high stakes tables and roulette. Prolly the same at other high end casinos.

Would that mean Rolex owners like to gamble a lot?

LOL.

Tease!!!

Any waiter wearing a watch on my wish list won't get a tip from me.

It's just like rubbing salt in the wound.

You probably couldn't eat your meal after seeing that! Being sick to your stomach that your server has the watch you want!
