"stretch" on an Oyster bracelet

Does anybody have a picture? what is meant by "stretch" on an Oyster bracelet? I've looked at many Oyster bracelet and have been having difficulty telling the difference between a stretched bracelet and a tight bracelet. here is mine. How is it?

appears to have slight stretch; the stretch occurs when the pins/screws holding the links together begin to rub down over time due to dirt and grime, leading to a looser bracelet.

The best way to avoid is to simply keep clean on a regular basis.

This is a "stretched" oyster:

It is not mine...

I strapped on an Oyster for the first time in 1989, and the one I have used the most have seen daily use (by me) during ca 15 years. When I compare it to an unused Oyster bracelet from 1992, that I own, the used one is scratched and has a softer feeling (very comfortable), but is pretty much as unstretched as the unused one. They both look like yours. I wear my bracelets tight, and I clean them with some soap and warm water every week.

I do not know the history of the bracelet above. I have seen similar several times, and usually they have been worn very, very loose on the wrist and rarely - if ever - been cleaned, during many years.

Best,

A

based on the picture above it seems like the links are worn away. hard to tell what the pins look like.

Some would consider yours as no stretch at all. No bad IMO.

That bracelet is not that bad... in the vintage world it would be near mint.

You have minor stretch in your bracelet. I have a six week old oyster braclet that stays perfectly perpendicular to the case when held like that.

Yours looks like it has minor stretch..I wouldn't worry about it.. Wash the bracelet once a month with just mild dish washing soap & warm water.

Looks pretty good! Don't worry about it. My dad's 16713 TT GMT has more stretch than that.

I have seen a lot of posts about bracelet "stretch" on here. Some contend that it only happens when bracelets are not kept clean, which causes dirt and grime to build up and stretch the bracelet. Others say that wearing their watches too loose can cause stretch as well. Well, how loose is too loose? I don't like wearing tight-fitting watches as they are not comfortable, but I do clean my watch at least weekly with soap and warm water. What's the consensus regarding this? Thanks.

x2!

Very mild strech.

As for soap & water use Varaet. I thought it was BS! Now a very satisfied Customer. Use ROLEXFORUMS in discount code and get 15% off - almost pays for USPS Priority Shipping.

MODS - if I was wrong for posting this please delete and I appologize. I am nothing more than a satisfied customer - no association/kickbacks.

The picture looks about like my 1995 14060. I had a brand new oyster next to mine and you could tell the difference, even though it was subtle.
