That reasoning was maybe true up till a couple of years ago . Today , walk into any second hand watch dealers shop in Europe with your mint Deepsea box and papers and I bet you'd be lucky to walk out with 5000 USD cash in your pocket . So , I'm not surprised to see them on offer on Ebay for around those prices .

Anyone have any other contact with this seller? Someone mentioned it was a google voice number and not traceable, how did you find that out?

Don't regret, the price is far too low.
You just won $5'500 and a few sleepless nights.

It was me that found out that he had a google number. There are several apps out there that can trace carriers for certain numbers. But I called him a couple of times. The first time I called I spoke to him, the second time I called I got a voicemail which was an automated greeting from google voice.
He contacted me as late as Sunday evening saying that he would now take paypal but he was only going to send me one photo of the watch and that was it! He also was happy to tell me that he now had a reference. The owner of WUS had asked him to verify his watch so he took photos of it set to a specific time and sent them to the owner of WUS. And if I wanted to verify that the watch was real, all I had to do was contact the owner of WUS....umm...OK. I told him to f*** off. You should see the text we sent back and forth. The guy is a total scammer and that became more and more apparent the more I dealt with him.

I'm happy I stuck to my guns. There are several sellers out there with no real posts on the forums, and no references...selling watches they don't have. Just beware! And stick to your checklist.

This communication alone would cause me to immediately walk away. Plus, google the email address - earnest1129@gmail.com comes up with a few dodgy things.
