Dan, with all due respect, I'd trust this man more than you with anything related to Patek...

I'd be glad to hear about your experiences on 5711/1A ordering and purchasing from a Patek AD. Sometimes it looks like it's very tough to get one in Europe or US, but other times it's just randomly in the watch window or AD claims can get one in a few weeks. Did you get one right away, from stock? Or did you order it? -- and then how long did you have to wait to get it?

Another interesting topic would be the 5711 vs. 5726 debate. If you picked one, why did you pick that? Now that both watches are available on a steel bracelet, for me it's tougher than ever to pick one. The 5711 is the classic Nautilus, with a clean face and a great looking thin case -- but it's not easy to acquire one, and a bit redundant for a guy like me who already owns a Royal Oak 15300ST. On the other hand, the 5726 is much sportier with its thicker case, it has an interesting and useful complication, and usually on stock at ADs -- but it's rather expensive.

I've purchased a number of watches from an AD in the past, however I purchased my 5711 from DavidSW. I wanted the 5711 and it was much easier to get it this way. The transaction was very smooth and extremely easy and I got it right away. I was able to get the bracelet sized by a Patek AD which happens to be were I purchased most of my other watches. They just didn't have the 5711.

The other Nautilus that interest me is the 5980. I have something for Patek chronographs I guess. However I decided to go with the 5711, which maybe thin, but it is elegant as well. Besides I kind of like watches which are very comfortable and barely noticeable when wearing them. That is until you need the time or date, or you just wish to stare at them for awhile.

For me I already have the 26300 RO Chrono... and i wanted something clean and sweet (sporty yet elagant)... a 15300 comes into mind, but what is a collection without a Patek...

5980 is nice, but a tad out of my poor a** range... and I have a thing for chronos but for this 5711... less is more to my eyes!

- still thinking it harrrrrdddd

Set back and relax.

Can I get you some wine, scotch, or beer?

Which one would you like to try on first?

I waited six months for my 5711/1A. I was tempted by the 5980s, 5726s, 5712s, etc but I kept my eyes on the prizes and ended up with...
