For Al (avalon)

You've asked to see this a couple of times, so here it is, and I'm trying to sell it locally, cuz I rarely wear it.

I picked it up in Portugal. This model wasn't sold in North America. It's got an 18k white gold-filled case, sapphire crystal, porcelain dial. I really like the shape of the hands, and the fact it doesn't have a second hand. It's a very elegant dress watch (IMO). The case is about 36mm, if memory serves and it was an impulse buy.

Thanks Bruce. I think it's quite nice (much like a PP), but given the choice between it and my ExpII, guess what wins out every time.

A word of advice, Johnny...that is a fine looking, dress watch. Watches like these have bugger-all resale value, unless you'd be very lucky to find a private buyer.

And if you do manage to sell it, you will of course incur a loss! What you even get for it will be pittance....so why sell it? It's not worth it. Just wear it whenever it catches your fancy and that will make you pine more for your black beauty!!

JJ, I appreciate the advice, but I am trying to sell it and I fully expect to take a loss on it. That isnt a big deal to me.

I have yet to see a recently purchased watch, any watch, not depreciate significanly on resale (a watch btw, that isnt a rarity). I am looking for a private buyer because internet resale from Canada is a joke. If it sells, great, if not, it gathers dust. I can actually count on one hand how many times I have worn it in the past two years.

John, thanks for finally showing me this watch. Definite "hommage" to a PP Calatrava - dead ringer for a 5107 without the crown guards.......

Apologies to the guy I stole this pic from..........

I rest my case!

If it was a PP, we could talk, by the way..........

I'll give you 2 pounds of fine Gouda for it! And I'll throw in a pair of cloggs. Deal?

Throw in a round trip airfare to drop it off and you have a deal!
