It arrived...
My first Rolex, a 1965 gold precision in absolutely mint condition!
I purchased this from Mike Wood and his description was spot on. I personally think its a bargain. 995 British pounds! Never thought I'd find a Rolex in this condition for under £1000. Not to everyone's taste but I love the gold vintage look. Plus it suits my wrist as mine aren't huge. Went to a local Rolex dealer to enquire about one of the 18ct buckles and they quoted £430 new. Gulp! I know gold is expensive but that's nearly half the value of the watch!! Pictures to follow... |

Pictures didn't really work! Make the watch look awful so will have to get some decent pics at a later date.
Regarding the buckle... As it costs nearly half of what the watch cost, I may go for a genuine gold plated one. Seen this on eBay, would you say this looks genuine? Item #: 251074333387 Thanks Jon |

Yep that's the one thanks. I wanted to take some pics as it looks so much nicer in person with the numbers and crown being raised, however an iPhone camera doesn't quite work lol

Hi, thanks guys. Any opinions on this buckle?
Went to a Rolex dealer and they said they don't do gold plated buckles, it's all or nothing. He then patronised me about the cost of sevicing etc. but My argument is the buckle costs half the value of the watch so is it really worth it? £430 is nothing to me but it is when you sum up the overall value of the watch. Think that makes sense?! |
