Would you make this trade?

I've been offered a mint 18206 Platinum day date in exchange for my 18038 YG day date and 116520 Daytona. I'm split on the idea but the 18206 is essentially unworn and is very tempting....I'm hoping that typing this out will help me decide...:).

That's a tough one. What I would do is keep the Daytona and just trade the day date + extra cash his way but that's just me

Agree with Chiko, I would not trade the Daytona.

Do you have other Rolex's? If not you would be trading a dress/everyday watch and a casual watch for a dress/everyday watch, just remember that you would be giving up a SS watch for a watch that you might not be able to wear everywhere..... I would say find some extra dough to through in with the YG DD instead of the Daytona. You won't regret it!

Decent deal. I'd do it if you prefer the 18206 over the others

If you prefer the platinum then go for it. I think I would.

The daytona has it's value, but if you have not had a platinum rolex yet, I would say make the trade. Owning a rolex is making a statement, owning a platinum rolex is making a loud statement.

I agree. I have several sport watches and no real dress watch (which I intend to rectify) if you are giving up both that could be a step backward. However if you have 3 Daytona’s sitting in the safe, than go for it. buyer’s remorse is a bitch, so I tend to agonize over stuff way too long.

See what the cash difference between the YG DD and the Plat DD is. If it's more than the value of the Daytona, then do the trade. If it's less, then do a YG + cash trade, and sell the Daytona elsewhere.

Myself would never change two watches for one and the only difference between both DD is the precious metal. And today the scrap value price for 18KT gold around £23 gram and Platinum is £24 a gram.

Not a good trade
The 2 for 1 is a losing proposition
