Incoming!! Incoming!!
First off, a HUGE thank you to Michael Cannon (motomc1). Anyone who has ever dealt with him knows he is an extremely knowlegable seller, the straightest of shooters, an honest man, and an incredibly nice guy. He is the absolute tops, and I HIGHLY recommend him.
About 4 weeks ago, I bought my grail from him - a 1665 SEA-DWELLER. It is an early 8 million serial number, so one of the last batches of Great Whites produced by Rolex. And, the tritium dial and hands are absolutely crisp and white white. So, they will patina on my wrist! Though I bought it 4 weeks ago, it hasn't been on my wrist yet Michael told me it was good to go (which it was) when I bought it, but I always like to send it to my watchmaker (Tom Doan of D's Time in San Diego - another top notch guy ) for an overhaul. The overhaul took a little longer than expected b/c Tom was backed up and had to work my watch in! But after a regular service, the watch is now running great and w/in COSC. But, then yet another hold up - My father lives in San Diego, and he wanted to stop by and see the watch! I can't say no to that, so I told Tom to hold off on sending it until my father could stop by and check it out. He just checked it out and in his words: "WOW! Great watch! I'm jealous!" And that is saying a lot, as he is the proud owner of a Red Sub that never leaves his wrist! So, after 4 weeks, the watch will be in the mail tomorrow morning and on its way to me. Again, a HUGE HUGE thanks to Michael Cannon! The watch was better than described and he has been extremely helpful and communicative for the past 5 weeks. He's THE MAN! And a shout out to Tom Doan! Another top notch guy, knowledgable watch maker, and great friend! Here's the only pic I have, but rest assured, you will be getting plenty of wrist shots in the coming days! V/R Mike
