Icon5 Will they ever make the Blue 11619LB in stainless steel?

I am in LOVE with this watch but the WG construction makes the price very high.

Will Rolex ever make this in SS version with same blue and ceramic bezel?

I guess if not I would need to save up for the WG version which is going for $22-24k

No, or not unless it was a very different shade of blue

I really wish Rolex would give us some more colour options for the SS Sub. Black and green isn't much to choose from

@ PN221 Yeah, I think so.

As far as a SS w/ Blue.... I doubt it. Rolex is smart when it comes to knowing how to keep the high-demand pieces in precious metal. The Blue YG/SS is such an iconic piece, that I doubt they'll offer it as just a SS piece.

I'm with y'all though, I'd love to see it personally, and they'll fly out of the case, but I just don't see it.

I thought they may make it since there is a black one out.

I don't see the point of paying for WG when it scratches easily and looks basically like SS unless ofcourse you have the cash to blow.

It is the most stunning piece they make right now IMO.

No. They won't make a blue sub in SS. If you want the blue pay for the WG. Simple as that. If I owned a WG and Rolex ce out with a SS Smurf I'd boycott them so fast. IMHO huge disrespect to customers that prob buy multiple Rolex watches. I'd be pissed if the came out with a watch "look alike" intimidation that I had for that much of a discount.

I'm with GWalker.

I don't think I'd boycott them, but it'd certainly be a disappointment for those who shelved out $30k+, and then they come out with something in Blue for $9kish. It'd be disappointing, especially if I'd just bought a WG Sub.

I don't think there's anything wrong with there being a premium for in demand pieces. Rolex tends to make them in precious metals, and that's their choice.

MonBK? Where's this coming from? Cite your source?

It's the same source that says they won't.

If it didn't have PCL's and was a darker shade of blue then I'd be a customer.

IMO PCL's on a Sub just look wrong.

I doubt Rolex would ever release a SS blue ceramic Sub, but it wouldn't bother me as long as the bracelet was brushed, so it would be obvious that it isn't white gold. Even if I had the choice between a blue ceramic Sub in stainless steel, I personally would pay the premium for the 116619, because part of its allure to me is the fact that it is made of precious metal. I've owned the 116619 for just 5 days now, and can already unequivocally say that it is a keeper for life.

No, by Rolex design you need to buy a gold watch to get the blue bezel. That will obviously not change.

I see so essentially they are only releasing a black and green version which is 116910 SS correct?

Rolex has a log tradition of keeping certain combinations/models in Precious metals, I doubt that would go against what they have long established.

Yep, as I previously stated the 116610 is only available in black or green
The 114060 is only available in black

I would like to see some more colour options, and without a price premium. Perhaps a subdued red (like the Black Bay's bezel insert), a white dial option, a chocolate brown, a grey, matte finishes, etc...

The Sub C has a long life ahead of it, so maybe we'll eventually see some nice variations

Thank you that answers the questions as I was not familiar with Rolex production traditions.

I guess the "Blue" is a special colored item just like how Panerai reserves 47mm sizes for the higher end models.
