Picture Help (Vintage Sub)

Hi Everyone---
I bought a Canon Powershot last summer to take pictures of old documents so I thought no big deal when I started trying to take pics last night of the old sub. Some look OK but I can't get that clarity to easily read the dial etc , any tips?

Thanks--

Have you set the camera up to taking macro shots??

The button to engage has a flower icon on it.

Is this as good as it gets, picture wise? (aside from the rose gold one I sold in a fit of pique a few years ago)

u need to take note of the lighting.........to reduce reflections off the crystal....and a tripod is most useful

Just make sure you have turned off digital zoom,
and you have set it on highest resolution possible.

Jenny,

You have a very nice and collectable 5513 Sub, probably from the mid/late-70's. We would need the first three numbers of the serial to give you a better date..

The dial appears in excellent condition as well as the hands.. I would not change them..

The bezel needs a new dot but looks very servicable. The bracelet is worn considerably and is probably rubbing against the case causing unnecessary wear. It should be repaired or replaced.

These are probably the most collectible Subs on the planet...It is well worth your time and money to have it properly cleaned and have it properly repaired cosmetically.....

Jenny,

I just looked at this in a different light and it seems that the hour hand has been drawing (scratching) a circle on the dial..

Or is it just the lighting ?

Feet first, Submariner over is circa 78-89. Has anything been done to the dial?

I believe that is a reflection of the camera lens.

Hmm?

What strikes me is that the hands and hour markers are so WHITE and not degraded in colour, at all!

The hour marker at six looks a bit imperfect, too, but it might just be the pic.
