Ceramic Sub Love
So I recently sold my PAM 457, "Boutique Edition" with the engraving on the case back. After the caseback shaved off most of the hair on my wrist. I love the watch and to me, it's one of the most beautiful base models out there. I just don't want to keep a watch I can't wear.
I bought back my ceramic sub which I broke and sold to a friend a few months ago. It has been fixed by RSC. They said the movement is fine and all it needed was a full service and a new crystal. What my friend didn't do (to save 1000$), was change the dial. There are a few scratches on the dial between the 7 and 8 o'clock indices which I don't mind and will not change until the next due service. I'm loving the feel of it on the wrist and the super dial. The Sub has always been my favorite daily watch. From vintage, to modern, date, no date, all of them. I don't think I will be wearing my daytona anytime soon. Now that it's in the box and in the safe, do I have to take it out and wind it every once in a while and would it need serving as often? |

The gaskets and lubricants degrade at the same rate whether it's wound or not. But if it passes pressure test every few years and its accuracy remains consistent, then you really don't need to think about it. Once either misses, get a service.

Re: Ceramic Sub Love
Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. I recently gave it a full overhaul. Won't have to worry about it for a few years. :)
