Rolex DJ II w/SMOOTH BEZEL or ZENITH 36'000 VPH
Now that I just got this new Zenith in (2010 Model BRAND NEW 36'000 VPH). I am beginning to like the DJ II Stainless Steel. It's a very hard decision. I probably get more bang out of the Zenith but probably not RESALE (I did get it at a GREAT GREAT PRICE considering what preowned ones are going for) until many many many years down the road.
What do you guys think? I already own a Rolex Explorer II (M series) if that helps and similar in looks. I understand this is a rolex forum so I may get bias answers but would see what everyone thinks? |

I know Zenith has a great reputation, but it just does not stir any of my emotions. Zenith and Rolex both make great watches with a lot of history, but I'd go with the Rolex DJII any day of the week.

Rolex all day long, no inclination for a zenith at all

I am not a chrono fan so I prefer the new DJII with the smooth bezel. The only chrono I would even consider wearing is the iconic Speedy Pro, or a couple of the IWC chrono's.

I like Zenith, but not that one.
I'd go with a DJII, but not with a smooth bezel. |

A Zenith Striking Tenth would sway me more than the model pictured

I love the Zenith, this exact watch with a different dial is on my future radar.

Agree. Would add, if you don't already have a Rolex...get the DJ you desire. If you DO, then get the Zenith. An elegant chronograph with a legendary (manufacture) movement. Good to have some variety in the rotation/collection.

@advan24r, congrats the purchase. I see your new toy has arrived. Thanks again for the tips on the Ashford site.
As for your dilemma, you're comparing two different types of watches - so it's not apples-to-apples. I personally like the Zenith and suggest you add it to your rotation to mix things up. |
