Rolex Customisation & Rubber B

Hello,

I have been after a new watch for a while (in particular 16610 LV) but have not been succesful in finding one.
After digging around on the net i am starting to warm to the Banford, Prohunter and Project X designs. However has anyone on here actually got one?
Is there a resellers market for these and are they in the same ranges as the standard Rolex's.

In the interim i decided to try and get a new strap on my GMT. I did like the designs from abp-paris.com but decided on a Rubber B in the end just so i do not have to be carful about taking it off when near water etc.

What do you think to the Rubber B, does anyone else have one?

Personally I love the RubberB. Great choice. There are a few DLCed rolexes on here. Personally I wish I had more $$$$ to buy one to add to my collection.

Personally, I would not prefer rubber on my GMT. However, I would make an exception for the combination that Dan Pierce has for his. I think I'm leaning towards leather for my mine as an alternative to the bracelet.

It looks good on your wrist though.

Wow, I think that totally transforms the gmt into a tool. Like it. That said, whenever I put a rubber strap on one of my watches, I always seem to swap it out the next day.

Thanks, Nathan.

Italian rubber w/ a high quality clasp, nice vanilla scent, and at a very reasonable price. Even with Eugene's custom end links it still comes in at less than half the price of the rubber b.

The rubber b is a fine looking quality strap but exchanging the clasp seems like a bit of a hassle and I prefer metal end links.

I wear my SD on a Rubber B about 90% of the time. It's very comfortable and I think the black version really brings out the black in the dial/bezel. It seemed a bit stiff at first (it's fairly thick rubber), but it quickly broke in. It also has held up very well to hard wear… this thing is amazing at resisting scratches. The only issue to be aware of if thinking about a Rubber B purchase is wrist size. One end of the strap is adjustable, but the other is not, which can leave the clasp off-centered. It's not a huge issue for me as I have a fairly average size wrist, but if you are outside the range of average it could cause an issue.

Rubber B does suggest a method for adjusting to smaller wrists by reversing the strap pieces (attaching the intended 6-end to the 12-end), but this would result in the clasp being backwards, which, to me, is not a viable option.

Back to the conclusion though: I love Rubber B... and wait till you see your Rolex underwater on a black rubber strap – striking.

Have to agree yes its quite good quality but little or no better than many half the price or less biggest part of the price is because its associated to the Rolex name. While its nice to have a change of straps IMHO Rolex watches look there best on the SS bracelets they were designed for.

Anytime Mr. Pierce,

I'm probably going to look to your other ideas for inspiration as well.

Is there a resellers market for these and are they in the same ranges as the standard Rolex's.
For resellers market, the price I've come across thus far is actually higher than the regular pieces of the same model. Watch itself is cool as hell, but do take note warranty is void, and Rolex will also not do any servicing for the watch anymore.

Cheers for the feedback guys, will stick with the rubber b for a while.
I know its not to everyone's taste but they are easy to swap out!

Let's hope I can save for the anniversary edition sub snow!

I have a Project X Stealth MKII

I received the watch in a trade two months ago and it is an awesome watch. I am in the process of aquiring another Project X piece and might decide to trade this one later on. The prices, are higher than regular issue Rolex, but the quality is great, and they are very limited.
Best regards
Victor
