Questions on 1680 "Red" sub dials

First off, is there such a thing as a two line dial with Submariner in red? Second of all, is this a factory dial?

Neither have I, just found it doing searches for red sub dials.

It's not a 1680 because they have a date. It looks like a paint-job on a gilt/minute track m-first 5512 dial to me.

Wow, what a find.

YES, they made these RED 3 LINERS with gold lettering for the Submariner 6538.

Very rare and when I saw watches for sale, they were costly.

Doesn't look bad either the dial.

The watch, have seen a few all above 60K US.

...considering that one of those sold at Christies back in 2006 for 12,5K Pounds.

Very fake...

The real "double red" dial does not look like that at all...

Don't confuse the very, very rare 6538 dials with partial red text with a DRSD. Two completely different watches from different eras.

This one is trying to be a 6538.

I believe this to be the dial he was thinking about

http://10pastten.com/inventory/inven...age&page_num=1

Would be the last watch at the bottom of the page

I seemed to have stirred up a hornets nest! I found this image on a Yahoo image search looking for a red sub dial. I was just curious if this was a factory dial at some point or not.
