Easy... First, because you can Second, because some people want to wear a precious metal watch, but don't want other people to notice it. It's the secrecy that makes wearing WG watches fun. Although, if you ask me, for that purpose I'd prefer Pt over WG. Too bad there's no Sub, GMT and Daytona in Pt

I like my sporty watches made of steel or some other durable metal. If I was getting a watch in a precious metal, it would have to be a dress watch, and probably from Patek or Vacheron as opposed to Rolex. I don't mind a gold Day-Date Presidential, but a gold Sub just strikes me as a bit odd.

Love, love, love the 116619. I wish they gave us a blue option for the SS owners.

Anyways, you can always brush the links or even do a blue dial/bezel swap on a SS Sub-C. There was one for sale not too long ago in the $8k range.
