I love the look of the 5970 and kick myself for not having gotten it when I had the chance. Having said that, I still prefer the clean look and larger size of the 5270 even better. Some of the aurguements previously posted regarding the collectibility of the 5970 are certainly true, at least until the 5270 is retired off into the sunset, than we'll be talking about how great a collectors piece that is.
Either one would be a grail piece in most collections, so from that angle I don't believe there's a wrong choice here. For those that have both, all I can say is you're very fortunate and I'm very jealous .
