Looking for a Black Bezel for my GMTII

Hi Everyone,

I have been looking for a new GMT II at a good price for some time now. I called a local AD today and he had one left in his store that he sold for 20% off to me. I did have one a couple of years ago with an all black bezel. It came with the Blue and Red bezel that I like very much but would like to get an all black bezel made by Rolex for it. Does anyone here know what one would cost? Where could I go to get one (Wempe?) perhaps. I am in NW Indiana near Chicago. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to TRF, Mario!

Yes, Wempe could be a possibility, but it would be easier to get a bezel through an European Wempe outlet since spare parts aren't easily attainable in the USA.

Still, I would have a talk with your AD, and maybe he can help you out, either by actually having the bezel by chance or by sending your watch to RSC that would have it and would change it for you for the price of US $ 51 plus a charge for installing it.

If you get the bezel sent as a spare part from Wempe, for instance, you can also choose to just install the bezel yourself. There exist some tutorials on how to go about that, but you can go back here and ask for those if needed.

Thanks Bo for the info. I have changed bezels myself before and find it easy to do so my real problem is finding one. My AD does not know much about anything when it comes to Rolex. When I was there yesterday, he did not know that the new GMTII had changed the size of the case lugs. We pulled an all yellow gold version out of the case and I showed him the diff. His eyes got real big and he turned red. They don't give me much hope for having spare parts. I asked him for a bezel and his answer was they don't make them any longer. If I call Wempe in New York, does anyone know if they will ship me one? Dealing with some of these AD's is like going to a BMW new car showroom and nobody knows anything about the car they are selling, only that they are great cars and cost a lot of money. Many do not represent the brands they sell very well. I think it is a matter of doing a little homework and having a bit of passion for what you do, that makes a good AD.

You can find the black bezel out there. I just bought one last month for $75. I have yet to have it put on, as I have become attached to the Coke (Cranberry/Black) bezel. the AD told me he would charge $30 to install when I am ready. I will pay the $$ not to make the mistake and scratch it...knowing me.
