The PVD isn't really for me. Besides, I'm a gold fan so keeping the TT Submariner would be a no-brainer for me.

Still, if you like it it's all that matters! I'd just think about it twice though because if you regret it I think you may get a hit if you want to sell it.

I would pass on it. I am more traditional and prefer the stainless, natural look.

Just get a regular one, them work it over with a sharpie marker and a toaster oven. Easier to touch up scratches.

I personally think that the look will go out of style and any chance of resale will be lost. Its maybe cool now but down the road?

Try looking at one after a year of use. Not pretty

If Rolex produced DLC/PVD watches then I sincerely believe that not only would they sell faster than they could produce them, but also lots of purists on here who profess to not liking them would suddenly change their minds.

Go for it.

Been awhile since i visited my thread, lol. I did end up buying the PVD "new job / better salary" so i went for it. No regrets, the PVD looks nice when riding jet-skis, off-road and mountain biking. I did end up trading the TT sub for the ceramic version. Now GF wants a rollie, yeah sure honey, lol.

Cheers thanks for the comments

I think they look good, however I personally couldn't pull the trigger and do this. The fact of the matter is that all black (PVD or not) watches are "in" right in terms of fashion and current trend. However, Rolexes aren't trendy by any means. They are more timeless and conservative.

It's a tough call. I think it's a great looking watch PVD'd, but you need to ask yourself, am I going to still think this is cool in 5 years? If not, you're probably going to take a HUGE hit on it's value.

It's up to you. If you decide to do it, please post pictures! I'm sure it will come out great!

I believe in "if it ain't broke, then don't fix it". I have not seen a single aftermarket change to a ROLEX that I have liked. if it was an improvement, ROLEX would have done it.

I do not like it at all, I think it looks cheap.

Congrats. Post some pics!!! I hope to win the lottery one day so I can pick one up. There are just too many other watches I want more. If you want to personalize something you buy I'm all for it. No harm in coating a few modern rolexes.

I like the look and resistance to wear. But it will b so opposite to the tt sub, so you might need something else to fill the gap afterwards, should you actually do it.
