Hey Tyler. The auction was pulled so it likely was a fake. I'm guessing because I didn't see it, but someone must have reported it or it wouldn't have been pulled

Normally I'd agree with you, but I bought a Rolex off of ebay and the auction got pulled, and everything was completely fine. Ebay absolutely refused to tell me why the auction was pulled, it utterly infuriated me. Their jack-off customer service people kept telling me "You need to be sure this isn't a rip off before you commit", to which I responded "Then TELL ME WHY YOU PULLED THE AUCTION, @SSHOLES!!!!!"

Their customer service is even worse than all the reports say. Completely useless.

Yea, I figured it was a fake considering he would take $1500 for it and only had like two pictures. If that thing was real though........

Some of those ebay listings are tempting, but I've been F'd before on ebay and really doubt I would ever buy a Rolex from ebay. Theres just so many fakes out there and some of them look damn good too. Be very careful.

Not saying there aren't good sellers out there, cause there is and I have luck in the past, but nobody gives away a Rolex for peanuts.

It is one of the ceremonious masks used by Kwakwaka'wakw in Native dances. I know the artist. Here is another one from an artist named Simon Dick who I also know. He carves in Vancouver. This piece sells for $15,000.00 US

The mask carvers are in a lineage of artist stretching back for centuries. The various tribes have different styles and these are from a mid-coast area that is highly regarded world wide for originality and artistry. There are masks for whales, ravens, bears, bees, wolves,etc. It is an Animistic culture where there is a melding of all forms, human and animal. When the dancer wears the masks he "becomes" the creature. Hope that little bit of info helps. There is a book called: The Way of the Masks which is a very learned book by a European Anthropologist, Claude Levi-Strauss. Not the jeans guy!!

I don't doubt you, but that seems strange that they would do that to you and not tell you why. Doesn't make sense. I'd be furious too.

I have to say I've had good luck on eBay. I almost got scammed once, but that was my own fault for taking a chance. But since I paid by credit card, I disputed the charge and was credited back with the funds. I've bought most of my watches on eBay and have been quite satisfied with the results. I've paid anywhere from 40% to 80% of retail. I follow the two golden rules: (1) Buy the seller, not the item; and (2) if the deal looks too good to be true, it is.
