Is this video real?

What do you think, is this real? I think it is awfully convenient that someone was filming this at this time, but someone pointed out to me that in Eastern Europe people seem to always be filming something. I have no idea if that is true. What are your thoughts?

I think cars have it as part of the insurance nowadays as there's so many traffic accidents in for example Russia.

I use an app that is constantly recording video in an endless loop when on road trips. (DailyRoads Voyager)

Thankfully, I have never captured anything like that.

I'm going to say fake. I find it difficult to imagine that in a head on at highway speeds, the driver would just fall out the front window and step away from the vehicle... In reality it'd be more like thrown through the front window and about 300 feet down the road.

I say it's true. The dynamics of his movements are feasible, given speed and direction.

If this happened in the UK, the police would lock you up for not having your seat belt on.

Looks real to me.

Ah physics! Once again you've been able to give us an amazing performance!

The video is far more revealing than the .gif, so it's pretty obvious that it's real, not that the big news agencies haven't been punked before.

One thing I don't think happened is that the driver was thrown through the windshield, although he did emerge from where the windshield should have been.

No one flies through a windshield unscathed and might I add, unbloodied.

This happened in Russia, too, which seems to be gaining a reputation for the bizarre rivaling that of Florida.

No offense Floridians.

I'd say real. I've been to Poland and Belarus and the roads and cars are eerily similar. A lot of them are bad drivers and reckless. There are just too many accidents and they take drunk-driving lightly.

Also a lot of the cars on the roads are very cheaply made and will 'explode' on impact as evidenced in the video.
