Noob to the forum & ready to buy.
Hi all. Firstly this is my new favourite place. Not only for all the beautiful pics but how knowledgable everyone is.
I'm in a position where I will be buying my first Rolex from a AD within the next month or so. I'm in the UK & I see on another post some have had a discount from an AD. Is this possible from a UK AD ?. Still not sure on the exact model I'm going to get. A tad annoying that Rolex don't show prices on their website, that I need to go into a AD to find out for definite. Looking forward to the experience & hopefully if life is good to me & my family , I will be able to build a collection like some of you. |

As I mentioned in another thread. I have always loved my watches (without having one). I Always make a point to go in and enquire in a AD but finally I am ready to buy. I feel a bit like I have left it to long and so many I like, it's now hard to choose my first. Ill make their lives hell trying them all on |

If you call Rolex UK today (say tomorrow), you'll receive the actual catalog and PL with all the new or updated models from this year.

Yes it is possible to get a discount but the % will vary on the popularity of the model. Here's a few tips that IMHO may help
1. Choose a smaller independent AD rather than a chain. In my experience they are more likely to discount. 2. Ask for a quote for interest free finance. Once they have supplied this, hit them with if I paid cash, I would be looking for x amount of discount. See what their answer is and negotiate. 3. A long shot this one. Visit late on a Saturday afternoon. You may be fortunate and they are close to meeting their sales target for the week. One more decent sale and the target will be achieved. Hence you are in position to negotiate. The last Rolex I purchased new from an AD, I applied all of the above and got a nice discount (almost 10%) on a new sub non date. Of course I may have just got lucky.............. |

I think the only AD,I have near to me (within 120 mile round trip) is Goldsmiths. They don't seem the type to offer a discount ;0)

As long as you identify the watch of your choosing then spend ample time researching your purchasing options I am sure you will be pleased with your purchase.
It's true that ADs are being pressured by Rolex to stay close to MRSP, even though for many (me included) these prices are well beyond the value of the product. A <£3k Milgauss or recent Datejust is still just possible, just. Can't say that for a late 16610 Sub or even a 14060m COSC. |
