Note 2 size

Just got a Note 2 in the mail today and this thing is HUGE!!

Even bigger than the original Note, which I still have somewhere in a drawer.

I'd like to say "you'll get used to it" but in reality you wont....
You'll partly get used to it and the rest will be compensated by the many positives of the phone.
I'm really glad I got it.

(Although the s pen is a bit too sensitive on the screen....sometimes it registers a touch even when hovering above. Hopefully just a breaking in period)

My SIII will do that with just my finger.

The Note 2 is too big for me, but clearly there's a market for it and it may be a growing market, especially with the rise of mini-tablets.

My wife and I just got our note2s. I let her get one first so I could try it out. But after doing so, I must say the size doesn't bother me all that much so I got one the day after.

The ergonomics are better than the note1, feels better to hold. It's big but one handed texting is still possible - there's also a setting for one handed optimization. It also fits in my pants pockets and the size makes it easier to pull out while sitting. It's size is just about perfect during meetings for showing pdf, excel or ppt files. Much less cumbersome to pass around than a tablet. One thing we're forgetting is that not too long ago, phones were way bigger than this. If not by the length or width, but definitely much thicker.

One plus for me is the s pen. During meetings, it looks far more professional to actually jot down notes with the pen rather than to just type text - which for some reason looks like you're just fooling around updating facebook or something. With the pen, you can also do that and still look like you're working. Haha

But I thought bigger heavier was always better it seems to be that way with watches on TRF lately.Dont this bigger heavier is better apply to things like cell phones or computer stuff.

Used to be you could fit your cell phone easily in a pocket....they may be light, but they've grown dimensionwise.

Last weekend I played around with the Note2 at a Samsung exhibit and IMO it is too big to be called a phone (in the usual sense) with tablet capabilities. It's more like a small tablet which can also make phone calls...if you get what I mean. FWIW I think the S3 is a better size.

Soon the "phone" will be the App. The device it works on will be multi-functional.

The convergence of presence, location-based services, and messaging will reduce real-time voice to the minority of your cellular needs. Conference calls are an exception, but IP based services like GoToMeeting and others will be more data-centric.

So the Note2 and iPad Mini will be possible replacements for small smartphones - the Bluetooth headset could become the device that replaces the handset.

Remember these?

Last two may be shorter but they're sure as hell thicker. And I never had a problem putting them in my pocket.

And if you must insist on wearing those lady-fit jeans of yours then you're better off with this:

Samsung P300. My calcu-phone lol

Man 17 years! First phone I had at that time was a Motorola shaped like half a hotdog bun. Had an extendable antenna and you can put in 4 AA batteries in case you run out of charge. Damn cool feature. Thing was heavy as hell tho.

Compared to that the note2 would be slim and sexy lol
