Question on etching on the glass

Hey guys,
Do all the new submariners have the rolex logo etched on the glass. I bought a new 116610V a few months ago and I have tried and tried to see the etching and can't see it. I bought it from a very reputable AD in Charleston so I am sure it is real. I just can't see the etching. The serial number and rolex is wrapped around the watch, under the glass.
Please give me some advise on how to view it if it should be there so I can ease my mind.
Thanks again

A laser pointer, sunlight, or other intense light reflected at an angle helps as does a loupe.

I tried to see it every way possible...nothing. Bought a $8 loupe and started looking for it, jumped out like a billboard.

Have no fears. You are not alone. I posted about this just a bit ago. Looked and looked and couldn't find it. And then out of nowhere I saw it. Glad I'm not the only one.

Flashlight with the beam parallel to crystal at 6 o'clock. I'd be worried if it is TOO visible.

Sunlight and hold the watch at an angle so that the hour marker for 6 is not directly behind the etching (similar to the angle of imono's photo above).

Hold a flashlight parallel with the crystal, just above the case at 12 o'clock and aim towards 6 o'clock. Makes it stand out on mine (try and get the light just under the crystal).

Amateur hour

I had the same question. I used a flashlight at the 12 o'clock position. You can see the etching slightly in my photo.

Good luck!

Well seeing you bought from a reputable AD why even bother straining your eyes to look. There have been some reports that some new watches did not have a LEC even when looked for with light and loupe.Same several reports when a crystal was replaced it has a S through the LEC as a service replacement .Now from the watchmakers on forum many crystals from Rolex sent to them are just plain with no LEC at all.Nothing is written in stone with Rolex today, the most important the watch is bought from a reliable source and not a LEC thats very hard to see just enjoy wearing your watch.

Here's what I think: the etched crown is less visible on newer Rolex watches.

Comparing my recently acquired 114060 to my previous 14060M, there's a big
difference in the visibility of the etched crown. The latter was much more
prominent. On my newer watch, it's hardly visible. I can see why some people
would miss it altogether and argue that there's no etched crown even though
it's there.

Just my 2c..

Harder on some than others it seems. Kinda fun trying to locate it. Use a bright light source at a sharp angle to the crystal and hunt it down.

If I recall, the GV Milgauss does not have one. That may have changed by now...just not sure.

I finally saw it. It is very very hard to see but with a loupe and a flashlight positioned just right, you can get a glimpse of it.
The main reason I started this thread was to find out if all the new watches had the etching on it. Not because I was stressing that I couldn't see mine. Buying from a reputable AD, I knew mine was authentic. Just trying to. Learn more on the newer rolexes.
Thanks again guys

I have also noticed a difference in trying to spot mine. I had a 16610 M serial which I usually had no problem with seeing it (of course the lighting had to be correct). Flash forward I now own a SUBC from DavidSW and must say it is a bit harder to find the crown. I can still do it, but it is much much harder for my eyes to see it.

Hope this helps anyone =)
