Good thing sky fall did well, I guess he didn't want to be on the end of a sinking ship. Seems odd though since the bond franchise has historically done so well. Tight cast?

I think the "Times of India" may not be the most reliable of newspapers, but on the other hand, many actors don't want to be typecast forever because of a single role, as this will limit their careers after a successful run as a character or as a type for too long.
There are many examples of careers that have been ruined by too much success in a too narrow range of characters or as a single character. It should also be noted that for character actors, such may be their bread and butter.
