Love it, About time F1 was back in the US. This track looks so much better than the Mickey Mouse corners they had an Indy.
How is is being at a new track? I was at the Sepang GP when it was brand new, and some things were not all ready.

I am praying for an Alonso miracle, but it's looking pretty good for RB and Seb.

Cheers!

On my way back home! Exhausted but what an amazing experience! I've been a F1 fan since I was 16 and my last Grand Prix attendance was at the Mexican Grand Prix in 1992. At that time, Senna was racing for McLaren and it was an amazing race. I even had Paddock seats back then.

This time even though I wasn't in the paddock area I felt it was even a better experience. The cars are now louder with a higher pitch sound and with more backfire when shifting gears down during breaking. I just loved it.

The sad part, is that many people with great seats or in paddock were beyond clueless regarding F1. Additionally, the parking lots and certain areas behind the bleachers or walking paths were just plain gravel and dirt. It felt like the people at COTA didn't have enough time to finish paving those areas. Very disappointing!!!! n: Even a lawn next to the premium grandstand on Turn 15 and Turn 12 looked more like hay than grass. Dry and dusty all over.

The track is very nice and the design of the FIA engineers is just great. Great different elevations and steep turns with a very European feel to it. The best part were my seats. I was able to see turn 1, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.

Merchants selling official F1 gear had everything you can imagine. Awesome gear and making tons of cash. A guy seating behind me on this plane is with the company that sells Lotus, Mercedes and Schumacher merchandise and he told the guy next to him that they have never sold so much merchandise before with the exception of Shanghai. Not surprised since at least 50% of the people that attended the race were my fellow affluent Mexicans. They were buying like crazy! I almost felt back in Mexico.

Now finally what everyone is waiting to hear about. How were the watch sightings??? Amazing! APs and Hublots in the wild like never before in my life. Not even in Vegas I've seen so many AP pieces on people's wrists. I saw at least 20-25 APs from plain SS Royal Oaks to SS and RG Rubberclads, 44mm ROOs, Safaris, Montauk, Gold ROs, Divers and RO Chronos. It felt good that no one had my 25721ST.

I will post a full thread with tons of pictures in a few days. For now, only these images from yesterday and today.

The cowboy looking Pirelli hats were an interesting Texas touch but IMHO they go against the essence of the GP.
