One of my favorite watches is back!

I made a huge mistake and sold my first rolex that I bought in 1992, and missed it ever since. Now I got it back, except it's the non-tritium M version.

Something tells me you will not rest until you get the exact configuration you sold years ago back! In any event congrats and wear your Air King in good health!

Handsome and understated, the Air King does get the proper forum attention.

I was across the ailse on a plane a while back from a guy sporting his SS Air King, and I really got to liking it.

Congrats !

I had one, too, but the silver dial.
That's an iconic model.

congratulations on the pickup. I am also on the hunt to get back my first Rolex, similar to yours but had the engine-turned bezel as the difference

I think the AK is a great watch. No nonsense, aviation icon. Not quite the cache as the GMT Master but still distiller Rolex perfection. Burt Lancaster wore a 5500 AK. Good enough for him, good enough for me.

Your 14000m looks awesome! The 3130 movement can't be beat! Black dial 14000s in general were less common. The majority were made with silver dials and oyster bracelets only.
