4 submariners...

I have always been fascinated with the Submariner model line. However this collection started just over 12 months ago. Put another way, this is what happens when you spend too much time on TRF...
Yes, I know, I need a RedSub to round out this collection...it's on the list.

Submariner-84 (16800)
Submariner-83 (16800)
Submariner-78 (1680);
Submariner-66 (Tudor 7928)

The 1680 white sub is the hands down favorite- vintage, fresh Rolex service, lighter feeling on the wrist. It's currently the only watch on my wrist- all others are in the vault...

Yes. A green would be a cool addition. Another member here added a green bezel insert to his 16800 matte dial- it looks great.

I'd go green before red. Congrats on the collection.

I tried this once but soon realized that I was bored with no ability to "change it up"

Nice watches though!

Yes, v65 is correct. The 1680 dial is shiny like a new car, now the the Tudor is another story. The Tudor has a vertical scratch line on the 6:00 o clock marker, some good yellow dots on the dial, and very warn/moldy hands..

The Tudor was made in 66, and I was born in 1965, come to thnk of it, my hands don't look that great either...!

I have said it before when you posted pics of your subs and I will say it again, great collection. Those watches are gorgeous. Maybe one day I will be able to show off a collection like that as well

Much appreciated Heath...,

It took a lifetime of collecting lower end watches that maintain no resale value to come to a point when I realized it was time to own the watches I had always admired as a younger man. Note that I sold a few items to obtain these watches, including:

A 1984 Porsche 928
Several guitars
My entire vintage military manual watches
Art work, furniture, and whatever else had no potential for future value..

The fact that I am no longer such a younger man was another factor for me,,,

great taste!

I have been debating between a 1680 and a 5513 for awhile...

Glad to hear you like it so much!

And its never too late to start a hobby! (mind you an expensive one)
