Omega SMP Professional Chronometer losing time!
My SMP professional that I purchased in 2000 is currently losing about 28 seconds a day, or 3.25 MINUTES a week. Way outside Chronometer standards. Should I have it sent in for service? It's never been opened (red seal still intact). If so, send it to Switzerland? If so, what is the process and anticipated cost(s)? Thanks in advance!

DSJ,
My guess is that you need to have that nice time-piece cleaned, oiled, and adjusted... You do not need to send it to Switzerland, there are several Omega Service Centers in the USA. Give this one a call and see what they say> Swiss Service Center 17 1/2 Calendar Court La Grange IL 60525 T. 708 482 0610 Or try the main office in Secaucus NJ, MAILING ADDRESS ONLY: SGUS 55 Metro Way, Suite # 1 Secaucus NJ 07094 T. 1-800-766-6342 Alternatively, almost any watchmaker can do the job for probably less than an Omega Service Center.. |

I've walked into the La Grange, IL one to have my bracelet adjusted. Little place with an entrance via the alley. :D
Pleasant enough, but when I emailed them about removing a link from one of the brands they don't list, said they wouldn't do it. We're talking about two screws and 2 minutes. But when I needed my Omega bracelet adjusted again, 2nd time was free.
