Milgauss GV Delivery Issues?

Guys,

Was told by my AD today that the compnay that makes the green crystal for the Milgauss is out of biz and that it will be 6 months for rolex to get this fix'd? Anyone else hear this?

Problem is only with green crystal from what I'm told?

+1.....

I am sure Rolex has suppliers for their raw materials but for an AD to know this seems very fishy to me. Rolex is the most secretive company out there, and I know they would not share their supply chain issues with their AD's.

That excuse seems like a bit of a tall one to me, man I love the colour of that green crystal around the edge. (maybe it's just this photo, but I like it :agree).

PM me who your AD is as I also live in Orange County. Just curious... Did your AD try and sell you another slower moving Rolex model right after they told you that story about the green crystal?

Milgauss Q?

My AD is overseas and a personal friend. He is not trying to sell me anything...He just told me what he heard.

We will see.

WOW, Steve!! That would definitely have to be the BEST picture of the Milgauss I've ever seen....although it's only half the watch!!

My AD told me that ghe heard directly from his Rolex Rep that Rolex had purchased the company that produced the green saphire crystal. My AD said that the company Rolex contracted out the saphire to had many problems getting the green just right. Once the green was right Rolex swooped in and bought the company.

A rumor? I don't know, but my AD assures me this is waht he heard from his Rep.

Also, my AD says that the Milgauss GV will not ship from Rolex USA until 1st quarter '08... maybe the rumor might be true???

Yes, I have heard about that rumour, too. I just read it today on a German watch forum.

EXACTLY!

Maybe Rolex realized that the GV is not going to be so popular as expected, and a myth like this could create a hype.
