fading of "rose" gold - Prior to "Everose"
can anything be done to bring back the rose gold color after it has faded to yellow gold?

Rose gold does not fade to yellow gold. It is alloyed differently and not a plated color.

What they said is true - you get the rose color by mixing copper with gold. If it is 18k then it is 25% copper with 75% gold, etc. etc. It can fade if it is gold plated. Did you try polishing it with a jewelry cloth to see what happens? Post pics so we can see.

Well Rolex makes a marketing deal out of the name 'Everose' itself as it is supposed to connote that the color never changes. That said, there are a slew of old 1940's vintage Rose Gold watches from all sorts of manufacturers that are still Rose Gold in hue today.
Many months ago someone posted their Everose had begun to change color and had Rolex inspect it and if I recall correctly they gave him a brand new one. A search of TRF can turn it up if you are interested. Rose Gold is very popular these days and I think the Rolex hue is really really nice. |

Hmm. Interesting
Mine is. Modern rose gold but not quite as "copper" looking as newer ones I think that maybe their formula might have changed. |

There are all kinds of shades, some pink golds from the 50s and 60s barely look pink at all, then you've got Omega's current alloy of "red gold" which does look indeed a more red-orange without much pink in it.
Everose is just another alloy with a marketing label slapped on it. There's actually green gold as well for those playing at home, a pawnbroker friend has this thick ring with rose gold and green gold alternating bands which looks rather spectacular.
