Two tone 18ct "solid" links on daytona?

Hi All,

Dreaming about a two tone daytona, but can anyone advise on whether the links are hollow or not hollow?
I've done a search here and I know that previously the 18ct "solid" gold links were actualy hollow, but I understand the newer daytona with the new clasp now has proper solid 18ct links?

Any advice appreciated.
Cheers.

I think where the confusion arises is the use of the word solid in a compound sentence like: Are the Daytona's 18K center links solid Gold?

The material - the metal itself is solid gold vs. plated, filled or capped. The links previously were hollow but fashioned from solid gold metal. Now the new links are solid links made from solid gold.

Thanks, that's what I thought, I guess it would feel much heavier on the wrist. Any ideas which serial number or year the "solid-solid links" came out?
Cheers.

This Internet term "hollow" is a complete and utter misnomer all it means in the real world. Is simply this the links are made from heavy solid gold or S.steel tubing and then formed to shape. This leaves a void in the center, just like any other piece of tube.. However, the tubes are still made from solid 18Ct gold or SS.

The newer type so called solid links are still machined but they are machined with holes drilled right through the metal. So in the real world they are as well technically hollow but not to the same extent. And in every day wearing would doubt if any real difference in strength or longevity of life as long as you keep them clean.Thats the simple answer in the life of any Rolex bracelet keep it clean.
