Have you ever noticed...
...that the most collectable watches are not necessarily the hardest to find???
DRSD, Mil Subs, Comex...No problem finding those... But try to find, on one of the more popular forums, for example, a gloss dial 5513 with White Gold surrounds, or a Tritium 16600...Very tough!!! |

Nothing easier to find 5513 with WG surrounds. Also Tritium 16600?s are around a lot. Just see on chrono24, ebay VRF, watchlounge or even here.
So your statement is not quite true |

Milsubs, Comex, PN's, etc only appear more available because some of the top sellers may have 1 or 2 sitting on their sites at high prices but you hardly ever see any of these listed for sale on VRF, timezone, or TRF sales section. I am sure we can count on our fingers how many comex/milsubs/PN's have been listed on a public forum over the past few years.

U lost me there a bit clay ...u gotta remember that lower value is a faster sell....if you add up the total volume sold over a whole year ...i think you'll find the numbers dwarf big vintage ...
but even as a snap shot on one given day 165 !!!! http://www.chrono24.com/en/search/in...esultview=list 64 5513 trit...wg http://www.chrono24.com/en/search/in...earBought=2013 vs 16 legit PN in steel (at least 4 of which are actually sold) 7 milsubs ( only 2 of which are without problems) 20 legit drsd.... |

Maybe I didn't explain myself property...For example...I posted a WTB a while back for a DRSD...I received 7 responses in as many days...
About the same time I posted a WTB for a Gloss dial 5513 with white gold surrounds... Responses...1... This same thing has happened to me many times over the years... Maybe people with the less popular models don't answer WTB ads??? |

VRF is the Vintage Rolex Forum and Ebay is not connected, it's just Ebay.

Regarding "want to buy" ads, I have quit responding to them as most buyers are looking for a bargain. I know a couple other collectors here that have given up on these ads also. I have sold three or four watches to serious buyers that have emailed me based on my previous sales and the knowledge that I might have what they are looking for. I have never sold one through a "want-to-buy" ad here or on VRF.
