The GMT-IIc is $5,950 USD in ADs in the New York Area. This price is without tax, tax is another 8%+ so out the door it would be about $6,400 USD.

But you think that it will be difficult to find it? For the price I think that I can make the tax free because I live in Italy. So if you know where I can go please tell me ... name of shops and address .. I'm also interested in preowned watches, the sub green bezel is not so new ...... and may be I can find it used if it has a good price .. In Italy is around 4000 euros used....

Sorry Chris..
But if you are in NYC making the purchase, you'll have to pay the sales tax. They won't care that you are from out of the USA...sorry. Also Tourneau won't discount either.

welcome to nyc
I love shopping at WEMPE on 55th and 5th. In NY, you can avoid the tax if they ship the watch out-of-state. I dont know about to a different country however. I live in ny and if I buy a watch there and they ship to NJ, I can avoid sales tax. You may try to request that they ship you an empty box and papers while you wear the watch out of the store. 8% State sales tax on 5000 is $400 savings. Depending on the model, they may or may not discount. They did not discount my Sub date in 2005.
Depending on how long your stay in NY is, you can have them ship the watch Overnight to a friend living in a different state(NJ, PA,CT). |

Unlike the EU the US doesn't have a VAT refund type of deal. You either pay tax and walk out with it or have it shipped out of state and avoid sales tax. Tourneau has at least 5 stores in NYC all have preowned, also Wempe on 5th Ave, but only new. The new Rolex website has AD listings with maps. To buy and walk out without paying sales tax in the states you would have to be in New Hampshire, Delaware, Oregon or Alaska, these states don't charge sales tax.
