Ghost Dial 1680



Just wanna share a vintage Ghost Dial 1680 Sub i spotted while shopping at the local "candy store" yesterday..

i'm pretty sure it will be appreciated here

He probably meant to refer to the bezel insert as ghost due to the light color.

A ghost dial would be have the printing in silver, this is not the case here.

No such thing as ghost dial but like the faded insert.
As for the watch it looks pretty nasty to me--sorry
not a fan of dirty lume and non matching hands.

So it's dirt that intruded through the seals and coated the lume grayish . . .

X2. Glad someone said it.

Marc in addition to seal integrity issues that can allow the elements inside the watch case, oils from our skin can get on the tritium plots of the dial when it is being handled during service. The best watchmakers use finger cots or gloves to eliminate this problem from happening.
