Montblanc Warranty? Major pitting on my platinum 164
Hi all.
A few months ago i noticed some holes starting to appear around the ring in the middle of my MB. I had no idea what it was and figured it was just part of the make up of the platinum that i had never noticed before. This week i noticed its got condiserably worse, so the point where it is now 'eating' away at the Meisterstuck logo area. After some research, found out it's pitting of the platinum. I have always taken care of the pen, either kept it at my desk, or in my leather filofax pen flap. 1. Is this a common thing? 2. What is Mont Blancs policy/warenty on something like this do you think? 3. I bought the pen from a montblanc dealer at Heathrow T5 airport about 2 and half years ago. I am based in Philly. Is the warenty valid now im in the US? Does anyone have any experience of the NYC MB boutique with situations like this? Im going to be in that area on Monday and would like to swing through. Thanks so much Chris PS. No pics, sorry! |

I also have a MontBlanc FP that the plating is pitting on the cap. You can have it sent back to their repair center and they will look at it and decide whether to replace the piece that is pitting or re plate it. The warranty does not cover this especially after 2 years(mine is three years old)so there will be a charge passed onto you for the repair work they do. I just spoke with their Headquarters last week and this is what I was told by customer service as to their procedures.....
Sorry that the outcome is not better but I am facing repair work as well and will send my pen in for repair. Btw. my pen is a Meisterstuck Solitaire Doue Signum!!! Take it easy.....Leo

I had some repair work done on my Carbon and Steel solitaire Meisterstuck FP, the carbon fiber came loose from the middle ring. Luckily it happened just before the warranty expired. All i can tell you is that service is quick, and they're very responsive. Good luck with the repair.

Are you sure...
I can't quite make out the pitting and I hope I'm not going to insult your intelligence (not my goal) but if you are you speaking of the marks around the word "Pix" they are the dot of the i, the trademark symbol and 2 spacers between the words MONTBLANC and MEISTERSTUCK. Those are actually part of the logo. I have the same pen and I just looked through a loop.
