Rolex Submariner / GMT-Master II Manual - Where?

I'm thinking of purchasing a Rolex Submariner Date or GMT-Master II, and I'd like to see their owner's manuals.

Are these available somewhere on the web, or could someone let me have a PDF copy?

Thanks.

Pierre

I may get "blasted" for saying this, but the owners manual for the submariner is rather simple and not very impressive. I know some companies make a major production out of their catalogs and manuals, etc., but in my opinion Rolex keeps it relatively simple. Even their boxes are not very impressive. But, hopefully your buying the watch, not the paraphenalia.

Is there something specific in the manual that you are looking for that I can help you with or a specific question I can answer?

I was curious about date setting and advancing, second time zone use, etc...

Maybe someone could scan his manual and email it to me as a PDF.

I agree. The manuals aren't very helpful. You'de be better off going to your nearest AD and checking them out in person. I'm sure there's a salesperson just waiting to show them to you!

Here is a link with some useful information about GMT watches. It makes a few references to Rolex.

First of all, welcome to TRF, Pierre. Glad you found your way over here to our merry madhouse.

Second, Jeff (colmanitis) is right. The manuals are not particularly useful. The Sub doesn't need much of a manual. It's pretty easy to figure out how to set the time and date. The GMT is only slightly more complicated because of the 24 hour hand, but it's all in which position you pull out the crown to. Position 1 winds it; Position 2 sets the 12 hour hand and date; and Position 3 sets all three hands. That's all there is to it.

Oh, I'll bet he's got more, Peter. You can't answer all questions in one thread.

Oh, but there is so much more!

What about how to use the GMT function? What to set the 24-hr hand to? What about when you travel? Use GMT, or second timezone? Using it to find North? Tracking a third timezone using the bezel?

There is so much to this watch, it deserves a real manual!
