The cyclops should not be removed. I love it. Especially on a Datejust. It's part of the Datejust.

I think its a great characteristic of a Rolex. I hope they never get rid of it!
I do like AP's approach though as the magnifier is built into the dial. |

Not only is the cyclops Pure Rolex, but useful. You can read the date a mile away.
Without the cyclops my Rolex wouldn't seem right. Today I am wearing a non-Rolex date and the date window seems tiny |

I don't care too much either way, but I sort of like the cyclops. It's just so unique and screams Rolex.

Love it. For me it's a must on a Rolex... with a date of course

Like most of you I didn't like the cyclops at first, but got use to it over the years.
The one think I don't like about the sub is when diving you can't easily see the dial because of the reflection underwater. I don't know if this have been changed on the C series, but It would be a benefit for me. |

Yeah it's funny I too fall into the "I did not like at first" camp as well , now I'm excited to get a reference with a cyclops like a gmt or sub date! It looks sporty, just have some bad memories of it during the eighties when every dentist on Long Island had on a gmt. What was that Tom Selleck tv show?

Ive always liked the cyclops. It is one of the defining characteristics of Rolexes that make them instantly identifiable.
I don't like them on Panerais though. Just my humble opinion.

I wouldn't have a Rolex without the cyclops. Although, I remember a time in my youth when I thought a Rolex was too clunky, old man-ish and heaven-forbid, that cyclops thing. LOL!

i like the blue shimmer reflected off the newer ones - regardless of the whole date - date magnification function - that little aspect would put a smile on my face when I least expected it - but I flipped it (LN) for a no date 114060. I have a gmt and tudor oysterdate with older cyclops but they are unremarkable in that aspect...

I am wondering if you could add one to a watch... I have a Vostok 200 meter dive watch that I have been customizing and would love to try putting a date magnifier on it.. Have already changes the Bezel and the insert.... Just for the heck of it :)
