Manual Panerai vs Manual Rolex
What is the difference between the manual Panerai and Rolex? For example, I heard that if you put the rolex in a watch winder you never have to wind it. Is that true and is the Panerai the same if you use a watch winder?
Thank you! |

Are you comparing aa Manual Pam and a Manaul Rolex? If so a winder is not needed since they are both manual wind

I am comparing a PAM111 vs a Sub. I wasn't sure if both of those require daily winding or if it is possible to purchase a watch winder to avoid daily winds?

Rolex Sub is automatic meaning after an initial wind you don't have to wind it again as long as it moves enough. Panerais are mostly manual wind and have to be wound regularly regardless of use.

Thank you very much. So if I wanted a Panerai similar to the sub (in terms of winding) I would need to purchase one of their automatic type movements and models?

Check out Panerai dot com and look at the contemporary line. All autos I believe. If you want a Panerai with a turning bezel, check out regular production modles 24/25/243/305. 243 is discontinued but cool.

Thank you for the advice on the PAM104, looks like an awesome time piece at an attractive price. The other models looks great as well. I will need to do some more research before deciding on a model but does anyone know which is the thinist model in terms of how high the watch stands up off the wrist? Thank you in advance.
