Opinion needed on trade
I have a Sub C that I am possibly working on a trade and wanting to gauge some opinions.
The Daytona was for me unattainable till I found this ad today and contacted the seller. He is willing to do my 2010 Sub and $2200 for his Daytona. Only issue I have is he does not have the warranty card. Granted the watch is out of warranty and card is useless, for some reason it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. I do not know much about the Daytona's but I do not see any issues with the watch and he agreed to meet at any AD to have it checked. Anyway here is the watch in question, MUCH THANKS IN ADVANCE! http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/jwl/3614636077.html |

Welcome to the forum! What is it exactly that you are trying to determine? Have you always wanted a Daytona or are you mainly considering this trade because you feel that it's a good deal? Nice condition Daytonas can often be found for sale on this site for under $10k from sellers with good reputations. And remember that there is always risk involved in a face to face transaction with a stranger. Lastly, I think the Daytona will look and feel noticeably smaller on your wrist than the Sub-C if that sort of thing matters to you.

Thank you for the reply.
I guess I am posting to get a second opinion of the watch, the price/trade is it a good deal. I would LOVE to own a Daytona, have lusted over the watch for years, just never could justify the purchase. |

Assuming everything works out, it's a good deal. Not an unbelievable deal, but good. The seller is giving you a very high value for your trade. The Daytona looks like it needs a good professional polish, though.

I'm vary wary of CL and meeting total strangers.
If you do meet do not go with cash in pocket. Get it authenticated then go to the bank.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Coincidentally the owner of the watch is a member here. He saw the post and sent me an email. I looked him up and he has been here a while and sold a couple of other items with good feedback. This helps ease quite a bit of the uneasiness I was having. We are going to meet up at a local AD this weekend to have both watches checked out and see if we can work a deal. |
