Educate me on PAM Submersibles.

Newbie here. Love my Rolex Yachtmaster...previous generation SS with Platinum bezel. Perfect for the office and casual elegance. Looking to add a Panerai. Something sporty and durable for casual use. Love the looks of the PAM submersible line. Probably looking mint pre-owned under $6000 USD range.
Love the general look of the PAM 24 but Panerai seems to offer several choices with similar looks in their sub line. Hard to decipher the differences as a non expert.

Would love to hear opinions on Panerai's sub offerings.

Thanks

The 024 / 025 are OP's current Subs in the 44mm - EDIT 7750 mvmt category, SS/Ti respectively. The 305 is their current 47mm - P.9000 in-house mvmt piece (in Ti). The above are all certified @300M.

The 243 is a very desirable Sub but production unfortunately ceased in 2011. This doesn't mean you can't find a used one in good to "unworn" condition. The 243, like the 024/025 is based on the ETA 7750, but it's rated to 1000M and is equipped with an HE valve. If you go back a few years, you can even find 243s with a T-dial (Tritium paint vs. the modern Super LumiNova).

Then there's the newest variations which are all based on the 305, including the 382 "Bronzo", 507 "Pronzo", the 508, a version in ceramic and the 389, an antimagnetic version as well - but all are way, way above the $6K mark.

I'll try to offer some knowledge about PAM Submersibles.

All Submersibles comes with automatic movements. The base Luminor model Submersibles are (left to right) PAM 24, PAM 25, PAM 243 (now discontinued). PAM 305 (replacing PAM 243) is the slightly newer and bigger model. PAM 24 is 44mm stainless steel cased 300m depth rating, PAM 25 is 44mm titanium cased 300m depth rating, PAM 243 is 44mm stainless steel case 1000m depth rating. PAM 305 has a bigger 47mm Luminor 1950 titanium cased 300m depth rating.

There are other special editions of the Submersibles also but that would complicate your choices for now.

Thank you for the info.
As I am very unlikely to find myself deeper than 300m underwater (and still breathing), the 24 or 25 depth rating should be sufficient. Visually, I prefer the slightly rounded overall look of the 24/25 series as well. I likely need to check out the balance/feel/look of the Ti vs SS on my wrist.
Looking forward to picking up one of these fine pieces soon.

It's also worth noting that the 024 and 025 are on the Luminor case, whereas the 243 and 305 utilize the 1950's case.

Thanks for this info, gentlemen. I too am a big fan of this line, even more so since my recent visit to the Wynn watch co in Vegas where I tried on a PAM243 bnib. Loved it.

Check out the 243... I would go for that over the 24 or 25... A bit more character, deeper depth rating (as if you need it), more distinguished look and less in over all production... All in an under 6k price point... 243 > 24 + 25.
