Dunklings Rolex Pocket Watch - Need More Info Please
Hey everyone, i have just recently been given this by my father. it is in its original box and that is about all i know and that he got from his father. anyways there are a lot of tiny markings on them i cannot really make out. anyways i will let the pics do the talking as i dont want to make myself look silly.
Also if someone would kindly let me know wat some of the markings stand for as i have no clue at all. thank you in advance ![]() |

Its looks a Denisson silver case thats was made in the UK like many were for Rolex both silver and gold. Many watches from the 1920s1930s had the retailers name on the dial and some although Rolex made had nothing on the dial but Rolex movement inside.Your watch looks like its 925 sterling silver, movement is the Prima 17J they made a Extra prima movement but thats found mainly in the gold watches.Cannot see the date letter clearly but it looks like A thats dates it about 1936 and case was assayed in Birmingham.

Well in general even the Rolex pocket watches don't command huge money but it would be nice to have running and serviced.Although most watchmakers could service it but once they see the Rolex name the price will increase over say a similar watch with a similar Swiss movement.

ok. i really want this cleaned up and a omega seamaster cosmic(that my grandfather wore to his wedding about 80 years ago). i love both the watches and i am starting to get the itch on collecting these.
any idea what the pocket watch might be worth now? |

and if your grandfather got married 80 years ago, I don't believe he wore the omega to the wedding, that watch is only 40-50 years old. |
