Icon5 New watch 'itch'....opinions on Tudor Black Bay...

Well, this is an ongoing hobby.....I am still enjoying my Panerai, my AD waiting for my confirmation on next purchase (I have my mind set on the next toy, but asked him to wait until Basel to see if we move forward with my decision or order one of the new releases) and I am still looking at more toys!

I had been looking at the new Cartier Tank Solo XL (low profile, auto, leather w deployant, esy going dress watch) but read today an article on the Black Bay....sometimg anout the combo (patina....red....vintage leather....) makes it 'interesting'.

Any owners that would like to share comments and pics? What about our Tudor Pro (Dan)? Comments?

Thank you, my 'watch family' for your time!

Insanely beautiful. Delivered both strap and bracelet versions to my client. Unbelievably hefty and in general just beautiful. On my list for personal acquisition.

Black Bay is almost perfect. Just needs a date.

The black bay is a cool looking watch, but I prefer the Tank Solo.

Wish I could help, mi amigo. But our friend Jocke can do more with pics than mere words can do.
Hope to see the Black Bay [and Jocke] while at Basel this year.

Did that mean you wish I should wear my Black Bay at Baselworld so you can try it on your wrist Dan?

If you want that just let me know and that will be the watch I wear this year.

Great piece...would like to add one to my collection as well. The leather strap has grown on me, and I would certainly go for bracelet and strap to change up the looks.

You mean I get to request any watch from your collection? Better give me some time to think about this one.

I couldn't be happier with my black bay - I have it on a NATO at the moment, it's my timekeeper for an island vacation....fits the tropical bill perfectly!

It's a clean, classic watch. There's really nothing else like it new on the market.

The Black Bay is awesome. It has that attractive vintage look in a modern piece at a reasonable price, not to mention, it has a RED bezel, soooo coool.

Tough choice! My guess is that depending on what you have on your collection should point you in the right direction. Ultimately, both pieces will be around for a while, so there's no reason why you can't get one now and the other one later on.

I've liked the Tank for a long time but I bought it mostly for sentimental reasons; my uncle wore one (Tank but different version) for a very long time and I always liked his watch. He was a great motivator my whole life and I've always looked up to him, the way he achieved in life in spite of a handicap.

When the Black Bay came out it immediately captivated me; I love the looks, it is super comfortable, and although it's a dive watch, I think it sets itself apart from most.

You can't go wrong with either. Buena suerte con tu decision!

Gracias Adrian! Those are great pictures of two nice timepieces. How do you like the feel and build of the Tank?

De nada!

The Tank is super comfortable and it feels nice and thin, it fits very nicely under the cuff. I like the XL size better than the classic size, which I think -nowadays anyway- ends up looking a little small. The ONE drawback is the clasp, which I find a little underwhelming. I'm planning on an OEM upgrade (if it's even available) with a different clasp. I'm confident that you would not regret getting it.

I'm pretty sure Jocke was planted here by Rolex to spy on us and to post his Amazing pictures. There is no doubt that his pictures have influenced some purchases over time. These Black Bay pictures are better than the shots done by Rolex........wait...these shots were done by Rolex
