ROO Rose Gold Rubber Clad -- please, need urgent help for clasp adjustment

dear AP lovers

A friend of mine just got into this brand, and he's just got a serious piece, the RGRC

He is having problems now with the clasp -- it seems it either too loose or , at right hole, too tight.

I've got this pic and it seems to me clasp is too off from the centre of wrist, IMHO.

Can you please give some tips how to fix that? maybe buying shorter strap or bending the clasp...???

thank you in advance!

Luciano

I think some folks take the strap off and turn it 180degrees and the deployent then is in the correct place.

You need to remove the clasp and flip it so the top narrow hindge is pointing to 12 instead of 6. Simple and quick fix. It will wear much more comfortable without hurting the wrist as much..

As for the size of the fit. It is what it is. Everyone's wrist is a different size. Better to have it less snug than too snug IMO
Hope that helps

Thank you so much for your ideas.

Sorry for my stupid question now....I couldn't understand exactly what had to be done, is that too much asking for step by step pic's .....

No worries if not, still much to learn

best regards

I have talked to my friend the ideas so far. Bad thing is he and watch are 8,000km away, so it's difficult to solve this at once.

The diver strap with RG tang buckle seems to me the solution as well, but he's willing to save the original configuration of watch using the idea of reversing the clasp ( which I didn't understand myself).

In my opinion, a smaller strap on the part with rubber holders, would do the job, it would bring the clasp to the centre. Is there smaller straps from AP?

I've seen posts here showing that watch on wrist sizes comparable to his. For that ones, I'd like to hear as well their solution for that , if possible

thanks a lot

I've heard of others suggesting that as well which seems odd to me since all you would be doing is reversing the problem so the clasp presses into the other side of the wrist??

It will helps some as the length on both side of the strap is different.

this is your picture from above that I have altered.
This is what the clasp will look like once you flip it in the other direction. just put the top strap at the 12 o-clock on the bottom to the 6 o-clock and vise-versa.

I don't know how better to explain to you if you still don't get it after this.
I hope this helps your friend.

don't knock it till you try it. it helps. it's the way the weight of the watch falls on your wrist and the way your wrist is positioned when its to your side. the area that the most pressure is placed on your wrist is when you rest your wrist on a table for example, or anywhere else. the outside of the wrist where the clasp rests effects it and can hurt. the inside of your wrist is never exposed to such pressures.

I have the same issue of the AP clasp digging into my wrist

Just to confirm, in order to have the clasp in the orientation you suggested (skinny end, or top of the "AP" point towards the 12 o clock position), you actually have to swap the strap too right? The shorter side with the keeps at the 6 o clock position, and the longer side with the holes at the 12 o clock position? Thanks

I am too chicken shite to swap the straps myself (and I have done a ton on Panerai's) so I just took the clasp off and put on a generic buckle that I have from another one of my other straps. I think it works. Wears comfortably. Here it is on my 7.5" wrist.

I'm sure if you look around you could find a nice RG buckle or get one from AP verses the deployment buckle if its not working.

I can confirm that it worked for me to have the clasp in the other orientation.

All I did was flip the watch 180 so that now the pushers are the left side (on my left wrist) and the tail end of the strap is towards my body. It was definitely more comfortable. The new problem that I created is that I could not tell the time...

Those of you who've had IWC BP's before know that that's how they mount the strap / clasp from factory.

Anyway. I nearly lost that little screw that holds the clasp in so I took that as a sign to stop fkn with it and just put on a generic buckle.

Just an update,

My friend has just bought a Diver strap with RG buckle, from a member here .

He's now happy as a duckling in a pond.

Even though, he's gonna try to procure a shorter rubber strap -- it does not make sense to me that level of watch could no be enjoyed the way it was conceived

thanks for the nice response

Glad it worked out for him. Reversing the strap usually works just fine though. Cheers,
