Datejust Diamond Dial- Factory or Aftermarket?
Hello,
I'm looking to purchase this watch below. Model year 1998, and # 16234. I've never seen this type of dial, I've seen "rolex perpetual datejust...." inscribed on the dial. Looking to get input from the experts. Is this aftermarket or factory dial? Seller is looking for $2300 for this watch, he recently had a watchmaker appraised it for $6600. |

It's just a picture, but the dial appears to be good.. No telling if it came from the factory or was added later..
The "appraisal" is worthless/irrelevant... anybody can look at current prices and know what the "replacement value" is, so should never be part of a decision on a used watch... If it is in excellent condition and not too old with good bracelet, then 2300 may be an acceptable value..

Looks like factory dial to me. Price seems good. Take it to an Ad and have it authenticated.

For this model, what should I look for when I see the watch in person?
