Great forum you have going here guys - in the past few week since joining I've relied on all the great information on this site to educate myself and learn about watches.

Celebrating my 10 year anniversary this year and wife wanted to buy me a nice watch - this has been a wishlist item for years and I'm enjoying doing the research and at times overwhelmed at the multitude of choices that are out there.

Anyway, looking at purchasing one of the below (in no particular order):

Rolex Explorer II 42mm (Black dial) - tried one on this weekend and have to say I fell in love immediately. I keep wanting to pull the trigger on here, but the prudent side of my brain says I should continue with my research - but yeah 80% sure I'm getting this one from one of the reputable guys on TRF
Jaeger LeCoultre Master Calendar - buddy has the master moon which I absolutely loved - but I didn't see a black dial in this and the brushed silver dial (which I saw on the Master Geographic) didn't do much for me - I'm going to pop by Cellini in Manhattan over my lunch break sometime this week and see if I can try it on.
IWC - not sure which one yet, but given my wife is Portuguese, I may be leaning towards something in that range. Stopped by the IWC boutique store in Madison Ave last week and I was impressed, but still have some research to do.

Feel free to chime in with you thoughts or suggestions - happy to have the input. Looking forward to being part of this community and hope I can share some good news in a few weeks.
