Murphy would shred a critter like a chicken. His prey drive is so strong. He's my furry buddy and I like him but by dog standards I'm sure he would be considered a jerk, but he wouldn't care. He's emotionally immature.

Hawk got a cat? I believe that and it makes me nervous since we get hawks in the backyard (even in suburbia) because they hunt the squirrels and chipmunks. In fact we have ducks sometimes. They play in the water in the drainage swale behind the yard in the spring. We found a dead one back there.

And I let the cats out on the patio. I need to be careful also because the cats like to catch mice and bring them in the house as toys.

Our german shepherd never bothered her, nor did the cats. However, she met her demise in a rather ironic way - another stray dog ran into the yard in broad daylight and grabbed her up. I found her bones and feathers by the creek the next day. Still, we had at least three years of great memories of her.

Dawna, I laugh thinking about your dog dropping the hen, and it promptly getting up and following the dog home. She must have thought she was getting complimentary transportation to her new home.

Owls will get them, too. Kinda unbelievable how fast and strong owls and hawks are. Scary if you have little critters outside. Good mice and snake deterrents,though.

And you know, the idea of chickens in the suburbs isn't new... at our first house, even before I was born, we had rabbits and chickens in hutches in the back yard. One was a rooster - but we had to get rid of him as he didn't like my brother.

I don't know, Bill. But I imagine Mom and Dad later regretted that they didn't leave my brother in the yard for long periods of time, hoping a hawk would happen by.

Yeah well my brother threw a shoe at me and gave me a black eye. He also used to sit on me and fart, he was about twice the size of me. Then one time he beat the hell out of me with fake lightsaber, them things should be banned

Wes, my brother is 23 months younger than me but much larger. He was a college quarterback, but I am much tougher than he. Once he picked and picked on me to the point that I had enough. This was in our teens. I punched him in the face and knocked a tooth out. He never picked on me again but my parents were not too pleased. Ahhh brothers, always fighting. But I was always there to back him up when he needed it.

And Wes, I do love vintage planes. They were real achievements of design, weren't they. Beautiful. We have a vintage fly-in event in my county every spring, so I get to see a bunch of biplanes. It's quite the hobbyist attraction.

I've not been to a museum like this since a kid, or seen an airshow. So was mesmerised. Yes all incredibly beautiful machines. I think all men are programmed to go weak at the knees when looking at jet planes.

Art, I do understand...I was the middle brother of three boys(and no sisters)and being much stronger the only place my parents would let me hit them was in the shoulder. And believe me when the opportunity arose I sure made it count. They would be favoring their shoulders for days after I smacked them but good. But of course they did not have restrictions...go figure!!!

He posts a cleaning schedule at home for what rooms his wife is to clean on what day.
He wants his wife to post a menu of each dinner, weekly.
He comes to visit (not anymore thankfully) with his rules, list of words I can't say, etc.
(can't say "eat" have to say "have lunch" "have dinner...")

He brings a schedule of when he wants his meals. Doesn't matter what we want.

It gets worse from there.

My brother is 11 months younger than me and we are as close as we can get, we would always play together when we were younger and still do a lot of things together. Of course we used to fight over the most stupid things but overall I have a wonderful relationship with him, we share the same absurd sense of humor, a few interests (such as video games...) and we will always be there to help each other out. Same thing goes with my sister although we have different passions and interests in life, she'll always be there for her two younger brothers (although being the older child she can be bossy at times...) and she knows she can count on us.

...As for fart jokes Wes, it seems like our brothers are just meant for that (although I feel for you as I've never had to suffer like you did, my brother was never strong enough to be able to hold me down and sit on me...)...

As brothers go...I get along quite well with my older brother and his wife and would trust him/them with my life. When our son was younger we didn't think twice about asking them to raise our son if something happened to us. Now my younger brother.....he only contacts me or our older brother when he wants or needs us to do something for him. I had given up on calling him years ago because he never would return a phone call...let me just say I wouldn't turn my back on him or leave him alone in my house unattended!!!

Just a random picture for the coffee shop that makes me think summer is coming. Taken a few years ago in Bristol, RI. This guy restores them and displays them on his lawn. Pretty awesome IMO.
