i always buy used . once it gets that first scratches its going to look like a used one lol. buy a nice used one there are plenty if it has some light scratches send it to a good watchmaker for a polish they will leave it brand new. One thing to check for is bracelet stretch get the one with the tightest bracelet and the newest possible ..

Many great deals to be had & as many will say 'buy the seller'. A great example being a YG Sub Date, can be found for 40/50% below RRP with patience

I've bought pre-owned in the past just to try different watches without losing too much when I move them on, but things like scratches, missing booklets and tags, someone else's name on the papers, unknown service history and not really knowing how the watch has been treated have always niggled away at me.

The prices of mint watches with all papers etc. can be very close to new prices.

For peace of mind, now I know what I like and want, I'd buy new from an AD if I planned to keep the watch. This has the advantage (or disadvantage) of making me much more careful before buying a watch!
