Hand and dial touch up?
X series tt datejust lost its glow, should I have it touched up, or leave it be? Will it hurt its value?

Nothing is worse than a badly redone dial.. There are some who can do a good job, but they are very few..
If you want some lume, have the dial replaced with a proper Luminova dial.. That will likely not affect the value of a 20 year old Datejust.

Agree with Larry, and if you want to preserve some future value then find a newish dial & hands with luminova. Year 2000-ish would work. Have watchmaker do swap and keep the old ones safe if you ever want to sell it as original vintage. You'll be able to sell the newish dial & hands later, too.
If you send it to Rolex they will keep old dial & hands.
